Part-time Worker Job Description


This is a 7 month fixed term contract, taking on the position from our previous administrator. We will work to gain continuation funding for the role to be extended.

Gross pay per month is £661.75 (take home net pay will be minus tax and national insurance). The role is paid at NJC Pay scale SCP 5 Pro rata (SCP 5 full time based on 35 hours a week 2021 £19,650)

The administrator will be based in Birmingham at the Jericho Foundation for two days a week, 14 hours, Monday and Wednesdays.

Who we are:

Baobab Women’s Project give advice and assistance to undocumented, asylum seeking, refugee and migrant women on immigration, health, housing and financial issues. We focus on women affected by trafficking, sexual and gender based violence. We raise awareness of issues, finding ways to influence positive social change so that problems are prevented from repeating.


What we are looking for::


Is a dynamic and innovative administrator to provide administration support to community advocates, and signpost women to other agencies for help where we do not have capacity to assist them. She will be a skilled professional who is experienced in delivering survivor-led advocacy and casework support services for refugee and migrant women. She will be adept at self management, and thrive working as part of a team in a multi-cultural activist environment.


This is a crisis solving role, offering a unique opportunity for a self-motivated and driven administrator to be part of a service which aims to improve responses, access and support with women.


The Programme Outcomes will:

  1. Provide administration and organisational support to the community advocacy project:

    1. Answer calls from women wanting advise,

    2. List & prioritise issues women want help with,

    3. Identify caseworkers at Baobab to internally refer to, supporting them to manage caseloads and communicate with women,

    4. Signpost women to external agencies where appropriate,

  2. Empower beneficiaries to understand how to address problems themselves, mentoring women to take control of the work they can do.

  3. Input data into excel spreadsheets and our CRM database, as well as find and file documents on dropbox,

  4. Increase women's resilience & confidence to give them hope and ideas for resolving their own problems,

  5. Provide project updates on outputs and outcomes in relation to the project to the directors and steering group quarterly.
